Send feedback from Profile → Send feedback in the app. It is the only way to reach PedalMash — there is no public address to write to — and it carries the ride and app details needed to work out what went wrong.

A reply is possible, but not promised. If a report needs a follow-up question, PedalMash can write back. Most do not need one, this is a one-person project, and fixes arrive in an app update rather than a message — so please do not wait on an answer.

Never send passwords, authentication codes, or medical information. We will never ask for them.

What to include

  • The date and approximate start time of the ride
  • What recorded it — Apple Watch, a bike computer, Strava, another app
  • Whether it arrived through Apple Health or as a shared FIT file
  • What you expected to see, and what you saw instead

Common problems

A ride is missing. Rides imported from Apple Health need a recorded GPS route. A workout without one cannot be analyzed. Check that PedalMash has permission to read workout routes in Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → PedalMash.

A ride shows no distance, elevation, or sectors. Some rides synced into Apple Health from another service arrive without usable per-point timing. The GPS track is there but the timestamps are not, so distance and elevation cannot be derived. Exporting the original file from the recording app and sharing it into PedalMash directly usually recovers the full detail.

Sectors say “First attempt” every time. A sector needs to be ridden more than once before there is anything to compare. A sector’s start and finish points also settle over time, as more rides cover the same ground — until they do, PedalMash may not recognise two passes as the same sector.

A road ride has too many or strange sectors. PedalMash is tuned for mountain bike and off-road rides. Road rides can import, but the sector engine is built around trail-style riding — climbs, descents, and connecting trail — so road rides may produce noisy or less useful sector results.

An upload was rejected. There are daily and monthly upload limits. They guard against abuse and runaway bills, not against how much you ride. They reset on their own, and a ride already in your library will finish uploading by itself once a limit lifts — there is nothing to re-import. Worth reporting if you hit one during normal riding rather than testing, which would mean a limit is set too low.

Deleting your data

Profile → Delete account removes your rides, reports, attempt history, and profile. A single ride can be deleted from that ride’s screen.

If you imported a ride that starts at your home and would rather it not be stored, delete that ride from its own screen. That removes the route along with it.

Beta expectations

PedalMash is in beta. Analysis may be reprocessed as sector detection improves, and a time can change when a sector’s start and finish points are refined. That is the system getting more accurate, not a mistake — and because every ride is re-analyzed against the same refined sector, comparisons between your own attempts stay valid.

Keeping your own copy of your ride files is a sensible habit during the beta.
